Happy Easter Monday! 🐰🌷 Today, as we celebrate new beginnings and fresh starts, I'm excited to invite you into my world and share the transformation of my bedroom window treatments. I'm thrilled to take you behind the scenes of my very own master bedroom and reveal my customized window treatments!
How it started...
Last October marked the beginning of a personal project – a mission to transform my bedroom into the ultimate retreat, a haven of tranquility where I could truly unwind and recharge. And let me tell you, the window treatments were the cornerstone of this transformation!
Okay, let's be real about how this really started,
Here is a quick backstory to how this really started. My bedroom was begging for a makeover, so I set aside a weekend to tackle it – even designers need some TLC for their own spaces! Usually, I lean towards light and airy designs, but lately, I've been craving something with a bit more attitude – something bold yet soothing. And so, I decided to start with paint.
Ah, paint – what a game-changer! I fell in love with Sherwin Williams "Anonymous," a deep green/brown shade that oozed sophistication and calm. And once I started painting, well, let's just say I couldn't stop! I ended up painting everything – walls, trim, doors, and even the ceiling!

Let's talk windows, shall we?
Let's discuss the star of the show – the motorized light filtering roman shades. These beauties, crafted from a crisp white linen-like material, provide the perfect balance of privacy and style. But what truly sets them apart is their motorized functionality, allowing me to adjust them with just the touch of a button for ultimate convenience.
I can't stop here, we aren't even at the good part, yet...
To elevate the coziness and sophistication, I opted to layer the roman shades with opulent euro pleated draperies, adding extra fabric for a fuller look. These draperies not only enhance the room's aesthetic appeal but also regulate temperature and energy efficiency, thanks to their blackout lining. Perfect for those luxurious daytime naps! Plus, they bring a hint of drama and elegance, especially when stretched across the entire width of the wall.
This sealed the deal, for real!
When it comes to style, sleek is the name of the game! This elegant valance not only hides all the curtain tracks and roman shade headers but also brings a polished and sophisticated touch to the overall design. Plus, to seamlessly blend it into the wall, I painted it in the same color as the wall and ceiling. Take a closer look....
Finishing touches are necessary.
Without them life is blah. Let's explore the most obvious finishing touches – the Globe sconces. Strategically placed alongside the draperies, these stunning fixtures cast enchanting shadows, creating a truly upscale ambiance for night time reading. I'll admit, I was a bundle of nerves when planning the placement of these. Cutting into fabric is no joke – you better be absolutely certain you've measured at least ten times!
Something was still missing...
Lastly (because I stumbled upon this absolutely stunning fabric and Greek key trim that simply begged to be included), I decided to introduce ottomans to the room. Not only did this fulfill my craving for a designer touch, but it also provided additional seating – a win-win, wouldn't you agree?
And voilà, pure magic! ✨
I couldn't be more thrilled with how these window treatments have transformed my bedroom into the ultimate sanctuary. Not only have they enhanced the aesthetics of the space, but they've also elevated its functionality and comfort to new heights.
